Reminder Schedules

Introduction

This guide explains how to use the Reminder Schedules page in My Home Plan to automate sending payment reminders relative to installment due dates.

Accessing the Page

  1. From the left sidebar, go to Reminders.
  2. Click Reminder Schedules to open the scheduling view.
  • Breadcrumbs: Shows Reminders / Reminders Schedules.
  • Toolbar: Button + Add Reminder Schedule to create a new rule.
  • Schedules Table:
    • Offset Amount – Number of days to wait before/after a due date.
    • Offset DirectionBEFORE or AFTER the due date.
    • Reminder Type – Channel used (e.g., WhatsApp).
    • Statusactive or inactive.
    • ActionsEdit or Delete a schedule.
  • Loading Indicator: Spinner while data loads or actions are processing.
  • Confirmations: A confirmation dialog appears before deleting a schedule.
  • Error Banner: A red alert appears at the top if an operation fails.

Key Features

  • Automated Triggers: Schedules define when reminders are sent relative to installment due dates.
  • Multiple Channels: Currently supports WhatsApp (with room for email/SMS/push as needed).
  • Fine-Grained Control: Activate/deactivate schedules without deleting them.
  • Safe Deletes: Deletions require confirmation.

Creating or Editing a Schedule

  1. Click + Add Reminder Schedule (or Edit on an existing row).
  2. In the modal:
    • Delay (days after due date): Enter an integer greater than 0.
    • Channel: Select the reminder channel (e.g., WhatsApp).
    • Status (edit only): Set to Active to enable the rule or Inactive to pause it.
  3. Click Save Reminder.

How Offsets Work

  • Offset Amount is the number of days used with the Offset Direction to time the reminder relative to the installment due date.
  • Examples:
    • 3 BEFORE → Reminder goes out 3 days before the due date.
    • 5 AFTER → Reminder goes out 5 days after the due date (for overdue nudges).

Note: In the current UI, the create dialog focuses on "days after due date"; when editing, you can toggle status. Direction may appear as capitalized (BEFORE, AFTER) in the table.

Common Tasks

  1. Add a pre‑due reminder (e.g., 3 days before):
    • Add schedule → set Offset Amount to 3, Offset Direction to BEFORE, choose WhatsApp, save.
  2. Add an overdue follow‑up (e.g., 5 days after):
    • Add schedule → set Offset Amount to 5, Offset Direction to AFTER, choose WhatsApp, save.
  3. Pause a rule temporarily:
    • Click Edit → set Status to InactiveSave Reminder.
  4. Delete an obsolete rule:
    • Click Delete → confirm in the dialog.

Troubleshooting

  • “Offset amount must be greater than 0”: Enter a positive number in the Delay field.
  • I don’t see my new schedule: Wait a moment; the list refreshes after save. If not, reload the page.
  • Can’t delete: Confirm the dialog and ensure you have the required permissions.
  • Channel options are limited: Only channels enabled by your organization are shown.
